Volunteering at The Fortune Centre of Riding Therapy

Volunteers are a vital part of our work. The work is with adults with Learning Difficulties and Disabilities on the residential Further Education Through Horsemastership (FETH) Course, and  with local children with a variety of complex disabilities, attending on a once a week basis.

Volunteers work on the FCRT Avon Tyrell (ATy) and Wootton Hall Farm (WHF) sites.  The Weekly Riding Therapy sessions take place at Wootton Hall Farm (WHF) whilst work with the FETH Course students may take place on either site.

It is important to us that we do everything we can to ensure the safety and welfare of our students.  We complete Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks on all individuals (over the age of 16) who will be working with the vulnerable adults and children, served by the FCRT.

For further enquiries, please contact Paola King: pj.king@fcrt.ac.uk 01425 673297

The FCRT is extremely grateful to employers who volunteer to provide work placements and community awareness opportunities for young people on the FETH Course.  If this is something that you also would like to offer, please contact Justin Bloomfield, the FCRT Work Experience Co-ordinator by telephoning 01425 673297 or by email: je.bloomfield@fcrt.ac.uk

Many people also volunteer time, effort, interest and wonderful generosity to help at FCRT events, to raise capital funds and to share their hobbies and experiences with FCRT beneficiaries.

Volunteers have always been - and remain - the bedrock and wealth of the FCRT.

We look forward to hearing from you.
