Weekly Riding Therapy

The Fortune Centre of Riding Therapy

Enhancing the senses...it all makes sense...

Supported by a number of dedicated volunteers, the FCRT runs weekly sessions during school term time for local children aged 2 to 12 years, who have a variety of complex physical, emotional or learning needs. The horse is used to develop the abilities and skills of each individual child.

Children are offered a programme of sessions over a two year period. Children are brought either as part of a school group, accompanied by staff from the school or as individuals by parents or carers. The FCRT team work with schools and families to link the sessions with meeting the learning needs of each child. The sessions are co-ordinated by the FCRT Senior Physiotherapist and run at the FCRT’s Wootton Hall Farm site. Applications from those interested in enrolling in sessions should be addressed to the Weekly Riding Therapy Co-ordinator at The FCRT, Avon Tyrrell, Bransgore, New Forest, BH23 8EE or by e.mail: enquiries@fcrt.ac.uk
