FCRT is an Independent Specialist Provision for horse motivated young people with special needs, whose educational needs cannot be met in a government provision. It is also a BHS Approved Examination and NVQ Centre. On the residential Further Education Through Horsemastership Course, ‘life skills’ are taught to 16 – 25 year olds with learning difficulties/disabilities using horse-based skills transfer. Student accommodation is over three sites, each of which is registered subject to the Health and Social Care Act 2008. We have the following permanent staff vacancies:
Administrative Assistant to the Director Applicants should be highly skilled administrators, with a keen interest in horses and people, particularly those with LDD. Salary range: £18,500 -£23,000 (pro-rata) gross per annum dependent on relevant qualifications and experience

Transition Guides 1 post 40 hours p/w over 52 weeks p/a, 1 post 20 hours p/w, term-time only Applicants will have proven equine knowledge and have worked with young people who have LDD. Excellent communication skills essential. Knowledge of Social Service Care Needs Assessments, Connexions and Advocacy networks desirable. Both posts involve evening, weekend and overnight duties. Salary based on £17,500 - £18,500 p/a (full-time equivalent) - ‘pro rata’ for term-time (40 weeks p/a) and part-time, dependent on relevant qualifications and experience. Temporary positions to start in June 2012 for up to 12 months: Group Leader: Full Time Vacancy to cover Maternity Leave We have a vacancy for a Group Leader, responsible for being the point of contact for a group of students, and for overseeing, co-ordinating and reporting individual student learning. Applicants must have experience with people who have learning difficulties/disabilities, and possess a minimum BHS PTT and another recognised teaching qualification. Assistant Yard Lead: Full Time Vacancy to cover Maternity Leave Applicants must be confident and experienced riders with a real interest in people with learning difficulties/disabilities. You should also be qualified to BHS Stage 2 level or equivalent, with extensive relevant equestrian experience. Salary: £15,500 p/a based on 40hrs over 5 days per week, 52 weeks p/a Other benefits include free hot drinks and meals while on duty and free parking. Curriculum Assistant: Full Time Vacancy to cover Maternity Leave Applicants must be confident and experienced with horses and yard work, and have a real interest in people with learning difficulties/disabilities. The work is also involved with teaching residential students independent living skills.
